This is a brand new boat from

Island Hermit LLC,

hand crafted in the U.S.A.

This eight foot dinghy was built using 6mm keruing marine (B.S.1088) plywood for the hull,

covered in glass and painted Midnight Blue.

The interior has five full coats of Bristol Finish for excellent U.V. protection and durability.

She has a cedar thwart with a built-in fishing rod holder. The thwart is run lengthwise to maximize flexibility in weight distribution, especially important with more than one person in the boat. It also allows a person to move fore and aft with much more ease. 

The oarlock blocks are curly maple, as is the skeg.

The oarlocks are bronze.

I built this model for myself over twenty years ago and it's still the boat I grab when I want to go fishing or crabbing.

It's nice to be able to just slide this into the bed of my pick-up and head down to the water without trailers and engines & gas & oil...

A great design from Phil Bolger, this boat rows like a dream and can take the weather, too.
